A "Domestic" LLC will be a limited liability company organized in Maine by filing the Certificate of Formation.
The name of the company must contain one of the following words or abbreviations: "Limited Liability Company," "Limited Company," L.C.," "L.L.C.," "LLC," or "LC."

The fee for the Certificate of Formation is $175. The routine filing time is approximately 5-10 business days.
A 24 hour Expedite option is available for an additional $50. An Immediate Service Expedite option is available for an additional $100.
Submit the application to the Secretary of State's office by mail or delivery.

Maine Annual Report

All legal entities on record with the Maine Secretary of State's office must file an annual report by June 1 of each year. The first annual report is due between January 1 and June 1 of the year following the calendar year that it was organized, incorporated, or qualified. Subsequent annual reports are due between January 1 and June 1 of the following calendar years.
The state no longer mails reminders to file annual reports. They will send email reminders if you have provided the state with a valid email address.
The fee for the annual report is $85 for domestic entities and $150 for foreign entities.
